Random Acts of Fiction

I'm going to assume you're grown-up enough to know what you can handle.

I can't decide which I like better:
squee!, fangirl, i am not ashamed of my love

Getting that letter that says "hey, loved it, we'll take it" or the one that says "O hai, here's where people can trade their cash for your book".

They're both pretty damn spiffy, you know? And they both make me grin and wiggle and generally act like an idiot.

Anyhow, the important part is that Eat Me is now available for purchase, from MindFuck Fiction. Seven sexy stories of gluttony, one of which is my little Awydd, featuring that pair of kinky Welsh lads you know and love, Max and Trevor.

I really like the little bit at the end, where each author talks about the origins of their story; I wish other publishers would ask for that. (Even if coming up with my bit did drive me crazy, but that's nothing new!)

I'm still grinning -- I'm in print! Again! Eeeee!

EEEE!

Skater Boys: I should get my own copy sooner rather than later, and according to Cleis' site, the general public can get their hands on a copy in August. My first-ever sale, and it's in a REAL BOOK and everything!

So. Excited.

Here's hoping I can post something similar for my latest sale SOON. *Crosses fingers*

That news I was muttering about?

Yeah, so, I can FINALLY talk about it, now:

I SOLD ANOTHER STORY. Yes, Max and Trevor have found another home, this one with MindFuck Fiction. Awydd will be published as one of the seven stories in MFF's first anthology of seven sexy sins: Gluttony.

Now I have to figure out what the heck I'm gonna say in my bio, along with the little 'About This Story' blurb the editor has requested.

But for now, I'm dancing around and squeaking in delight, 'cause it ain't never gettin' old: I SOLD A STORY. Woo hoo!

Silence can be stimulating.

Other times, it's merely disheartening.

Shh...

So sometimes I'm really bad at waiting.
.gah, .wtf!

And when I follow instructions as given, and then have to wait after, I start to hear this little voice in the back of my head, saying things like, "It was a mistake." and "They sent it to the wrong person." and even, "It was a test to weed out the people that they didn't want."

All of which are unlikely to be true. But even though I know that, intellectually, it's another thing to believe it. And believe it enough to silence those nasty little doubts.

Heh, oops.

It's Steady that's missing from the list below. You would think I'd remember it, seeing as it's one of my favorites and all.

I probably shouldn't.

But I'm thinking about starting something new -- something in the romantic-comedy vein. (Or at least that's what I'd aim for, anyhow.)

I have no idea WHY, since I'm on record as not being a huge fan of romantic comedies as a genre. (I have a weakness for You've Got Mail, though; don't ask why, I don't know either.)

I have other things I really need to finish/polish up, though, so I may convince myself to chuck it in the 'write it later!' pile. (And YES, I have written down the basic idea for it. And I even have names for the characters already, which is a plus.)

And, as I've not done this in a while, I'm waiting to hear back on:

- Awydd [should be any day now; response time was to be ~2 weeks past deadline]
- Duty [...this is getting silly]
- Neighbors [ditto!]
- Strangers [I'm not impressed with this publisher]
- and I think I'm forgetting something but I can't be arsed to go look right now. [sleeeeeepy Birdy is sleeeeeepy.]

G'night!

News!

So, I just got some news. I can't share it just yet, but I have to say something or I'll burst.

Anyhow, as soon as I can say more I will, but for now... You'll just have to use your imaginations. *Grin*

Uh, whoops.

I fixed (mostly) what was wrong, as I mentioned in my last post. And in so doing, I got caught up with all sorts of other things -- new characters, new stories, new websites, new software.

Still no word on anything I've got out, and I'm sort-of working on more. I'd love to get to the point where I'm polishing/sending a story a month or every 6 weeks or so, but so far... *Shrug* Since I basically just came up with this goal, it's too early to tell.

Gonna get my hair cut next week (I thiiiiink), then rebleach/redye it so it's pink all over. And then maybe I'll get someone I know to take an actual picture of me so's I can put it on various profiles.

I am not very bright, sometimes.

But that's okay. I'll fix my silliness and then all will be right in the world. Yay!

(In other news, I just realized that I could have avoided the huge song-and-dance I engaged in last week/over the weekend by doing something very simple and relatively cheap. *headdesk* So much for me.)
